In hopes that spring soon would be there...

At home or the barn, there is always a task when hopping on your horse isn't an option. Here are the top 10 activities to keep you and your horse occupied this winter. Clean tack is happy tack, happy tack makes happy horses, and happy horses make happy humans! Leather tack cracks when it's not taken care of and makes it more prone to breaking, creating dangerous situations. There's no better time than wintertime to sit down with a barn buddy, watch a movie, and clean some tack! Not sure how to get the best clean? Here are some pro tips to help you out:

Pro Tips for Clean Tack
Pro Tips for Clean Tack
#1: For leather tack use soap first, condition or oil, and buff it out after.

#2: For saddle pads and non-leather tack, use a hard brush or vacuum to get off dirt and grime before washing with gentle soap.

#3: Boil water and "cook" your bit or put them in the dishwasher!

#4: Spray WD-40 or another metal lubricant on metal zippers and other metal parts to keep everything limber.

#5: Cleaning saddle pads and boots regularly can help prevent fungus and rubs.
