The Zilco Deluxe Breastplate is one of Zilco's finest products! Long distance riders demand comfortable, effective products for their equine athletes and pleasure trail riders, foxhunters and English riders are enjoying the benefits as well. By removing the wither strap, this breastplate can easily be converted to a breast collar suitable for Western disciplines as well!

Technologies:
Zilco began in 1962 as a small factory in Sydney (Australia), making lightweight racing products from revolutionary synthetic materials. Zilco's famous synthetic strapping is made from specially woven webbing that is coated in a co-polymer. This strong strapping retains its flexibility over a large temperature range and has great resistance to abrasion, tear and cracking. The strapping will not wick moisture like other synthetic materials so the coating won’t split or open. Wonderful ease of maintenance you will appreciate.
Better than a leather breastplate; the padding of this breast collar for horses is made of a lightweight, specially shaped black PVC waffle material that disperses pressure evenly. The closed cell foam material is super comfortable through the tough parts of a long ride when your horse (and your gear!) is working hard. Soft and pliable, the material lubricates with sweat and will not rub your horse or create heat.
Care Instructions: Zilco is incredibly easy to maintain, you can Simply clean in a bucket of soapy water, rinse, and hang to dry.

Sizing:
Zilco's "Standard/Arab" size measures smaller than an average horse size and will fit more petite horses, like an Arabian. Zilco's "Full/Oversize" size measures significantly larger, and is best for standard horses. Both sizes are highly adjustable.

Comments: I now own 2 of these, and will shortly be purchasing #3, so all my horses have one. The first one I bought, I have had for a few years now, it's still in great shape. The colors stay vibrant, it's easy to clean, and the padding seems to work well to prevent rubs. None of my horses have ever gotten a rub from one. I'm very happy with them, I also like the sizing on these, I ride smaller TWH (think 14 to 15 hands) and these fit very well, they would fit a bigger horse if needed as well.

Comments: The Zilco product line is a fantastic friend of the trail, endurance and CTR riders. This has held up very well and cleans up with just a dunk in a bucket. Does not rub and fits a wide variety of horses.

Comments: This is a wonderful breastplate. My thin-skinned Arab gets rubs from anything but wool, but the Zilco breastplate doesn't bother him at all. It has such a wide range of adjustment that I can use it on my tiny little Quarab, my big Polish Arab, and a friend's monster warmblood. I use it with the neoprene ring protector and sheepskin cover over the wither strap. The freedom of movement is so much better than western breast collars, plus it is lightweight and easy to clean. If you're into function over form, this is the best breastplate for your money.

Comments: Breastplate weighs 1lb 2oz. Same as my older Moss Rock one with no padding but wider straps. So if you are buying it to save weight, don't. Online retailers should be accurate in their descriptions.

Comments: Girlfriend bought one for my horse and unfortunately I'll not be using it. I used it once and I have 2 negative items and one positive item to mention. Hope this helps prospective buyers. 1: - The clip and ring on the wither strap rubs on my horse's left shoulder. 2: - The keepers for the excess strap length rub on my horse and there are a LOT of keepers. 3: + It's very adjustable, however, and even fits my 17 hand horse (which is unusual). Quite surprised that someone would design something that is meant for endurance or cross country but has so many keepers all over the place that rub.
