Sizing runs really smallI ordered size 8-10 for my very slender 10-year-old, and she could barely zip them up! They were very uncomfortable so she can't wear them. I also think a smaller size would be too short. It was a bummer because they are very cute!

How we recommend measuring for half chaps is first to have your little one wear their normal riding wear. While sitting down, legs at a 90 degree angle, measure the circumference of the widest part of their calf. For height, measure from the bottom of your little rider's heel (where it meets the floor) all the way up to the back bend of their knee. Runs smallThese half chaps are super cute and nice, the problem is the around-the-calf measurement runs small. I ordered a size 8-10 because my daughter’s calf measures at 11” around the widest part when sitting and measuring as directed. She should be right in the middle of the size range, but these are really hard to get zipped and are tight from top to bottom. The bottom is extra tight even though they are over zip up paddock boots. I will have to return these and find a different style because moving up to the next size would be way too tall. I’m disappointed; I really wanted to like these, but they just don’t fit.
