Overview
The EasyCare EasyShoe Versa Grip Octo - Front (Pair) is a glue-on urethane horseshoe with integrated Finger Tabs that make the gluing process quick and easy. Simply stand the horse in the horseshoe and apply the tabs using Super Glue. Super Glue will hold strong for a full trim cycle and dries in about 10 minutes. No welding is required and the shoes can be reset if removed carefully. New Finger Tabs can also be welded for a reset. These durable shoes were recently used on a horse in a 100-mile endurance race; the horse placed second and the Octos shoes showed very little wear!

Fell OffThese are such a great concept. I followed the directions but I couldn’t get them to stay on more than two days. There must be a trick to it that I don’t know about.

OctosThis was our first try applying the Octos. Really nice fit for both horses. The wedges work really well for one of our mares. I rode 30 miles LD with them. They stayed on well, and the horses seemed very comfortable. Not sure they are going to hold a full 6 weeks, but that could be our inexperience in putting them on.
Fabulous for my arthritic horseMy Icelandic has arthritis and can’t handle the pounding of nails. These shoes have been fabulous for her. Super easy to apply, and they actually stay on.
Octo ReviewI love the Octo's! User-friendly and cost-effective. It's all in the prep work and correct sizing. As an Endurance rider, they are a nice break from using boots.
Octos FrontsThe Octos did well protecting my mare's flat thin-soled feet. Watching as many videos as I could find helped with the application process, but there is a learning curve. Fit and proper hoof preparation is important for keeping the shoes on. If the horse will be in muddy conditions I'd recommend using the plugs and DIM to keep the mud from getting packed into the bottom of the shoe, especially when the debris guard is removed.
Problematic for non-ideal shaped hoovesTried three separate sets of these on a horse that has differently shaped front feet. Watched all the prep/application videos available online and had a farrier apply. Feet were sanded with machine, dried with a torch, and rasped before application.
Horse's front feet: Moderate shoe modification was required. The dry/non-glued fit was tight with no gaps between the tabs/shoe edge and the hooves. The best application lasted about 20 miles of riding and came off when cantering.
Horse's back feet: Are ideal shape. Made some slight adjustments to the back tabs. Same preparation of feet. The shoes stayed on for 20 miles but had to re-glue the back tabs after riding.
Would only recommend for perfect feet.
Great productI was so excited to try these and they did not disappoint! Excellent quality, lightweight shoe that provides great protection, even on hard and rocky ground. Watch the application videos and follow all hoof prep instructions for long-lasting wear.
