Additional Information
A number of reasons to choose the patented "Bitless Bridle" Headstall by Dr. Cook...
Versatility on the trail - Customers can use their own reins and headstall can be converted into a lead halter allowing a horse to graze and drink without removing a bridle.
Kinder Control - No metal in the horse's mouth results in a happier horse and improved performance.
Safety and Security - Better "brakes" without pain.
More Oxygen and More Energy - Allows airway at the throat to be more open with decreased flexion at poll as the horse is no longer fighting the bit and wasting energy.
Liberated Neck - Permits freedom of the neck so the horse can no longer lean on the bit and be tight, rigid, and stiff.
Increased Concentration - Allows horse to concentrate on breathing and movement, rather than digestive system responses (salivation, chewing, tongue and palate movement) initiated by bits.
Poll pressure, not Poll Flexion - Applies non-painful poll pressure and allows for a natural position of the head and neck, engaging a pushing motion, instead of the pulling motion created by a bit. The cheek straps cross under the horse's chin to apply pressure along the lower jaw and chin area as well, increasing control and communication.

Comments: I've had this bridle ever since I had my first horse more than 10 years ago. It's still in fantastic shape and the medium has fit all of my horses since. I have yet to find a horse that doesn't love it and respond well, accept for my strong-willed Haflinger who learned to ignore it (but that was a training issue, no fault of the bridle). Even my Thoroughbred hunter who I could never get to relax/always tried stronger bits with ended up LOVING this once he was retired. I will never get rid of this bitless bridle.

Comments: This is my most favorite piece of tack! The material looks very nice and very easy to care for. My past gelding was never relaxed in a bit and after trying all kinds with no luck, I gave this a try and never went back. He loved it and was much more eager. We did anything in this bridle from jumping to galloping on the trails. Recently I started my four year old with this and she responses so well to the clear yet gentle communication. She will never have a bit in her mouth!

Comments: Love the Dr Cook bitless. We couldn't find any bit comfortable for my daughter's new rescue. This was the perfect fit and it was in stock for immediate pick up. Thank you RW for having most of my needs on hand.

Comments: I bought this bridle for my QH mare. She'd previously been ridden in a hackamore but wasn't comfortable with it. I rode her in a halter briefly and realized I needed a better solution. The bitless bridle was such an easy transition for her and she seems to be comfortable with it. The site said that unless your horse is a pony or a warmblood, get a size medium. They're right. The bridle is super adjustable and easy to fit. Love it!

Comments: This bridle is amazing. I switched my gelding over to this years ago after trying stronger bits to control him...all he needed was this and a little more training. I recently switched my 4 yr old mare over to this bridle and she is behaving much better than with a snaffle. I rode at the ocean this past weekend and she was such a good girl about getting in the waves. The next day I tried her snaffle to compare - she wasn't as responsive and a was a bit fussy. This will be my only choice from now on!

Comments: I purchased this bridle for my Arabian gelding just to try. He has always been a little fussy with the bit and was getting less responsive to his bit. Instead of going to a stronger bit, I gave this bridle a try, and it has made all the difference! He is much happier in this bridle, and even still collects up on it just from the pressure it exerts on his poll. He is much happier and relaxed with this bridle. I measured him and compared, and ordered a medium. I had to tighten the nose a bit, and just ended up cutting off the extra, and you can’t even tell! It also looks like leather and matched my saddle just fine. :)
