Overview
These Horse Fetlock Protector Bedsore Boots are designed to protect your horse from bedsores and fetlock abrasions. They are soft, flexible and comfortable yet are made with a tough, tear-resistant cordura type material to protect the delicate skin covering the fetlock area. With a soft, cushioned, breathable interior that has a jersey material next to your horse's skin, these boots can be left on your horse 24-hours a day and are machine washable.
Doubled over velcro closures mean these will stay on snugly and soft bound edges make them a comfortable solution for either the prevention or treatment of bed sores.

Fetlock protector boots work!Easy on and easy off. They allowed my senior horse's fetlock sores to heal.
Would Buy AgainMy horse got a summer sore that quickly developed proud flesh on her pastern which had to be removed. I bought this product to cover and protect her bandaging. It has worked well, and I am so glad I made the purchase. Once she doesn't have to wear a bandage anymore, I will probably have her wear this for a week or two just to make sure everything is going in the right direction.

Comments: Awesome product! Fetlock sores were gone in days! My horse was tearing off the gauze/bandage wrap I was putting on at the vet's direction and leaves these alone. They do not rub or make a sore like the upside-down bell boot was doing. I took them off and the sores came back so he wears them all the time unless I am riding him. They also kept the flies off the sores while they healed.

Comments: Best purchase ever! Just like another reviewer, my mare has a weird, very sporadic case of narcolepsy and when she falls asleep she comes crashing down face first and catches herself on her fetlocks resulting in constant wounds that would never get a chance to heal! Not anymore with those shields! She wears them 24/7, they stay up (the velcros are borderline hard to undo that’s how strong they are!), and have not created a single rub in the few months she’s had them on. Best thing: no more open sores and her fetlocks are now back to normal, healed and hair is back! I recommend purchasing at least 2 pairs at once so you have a second pair when the first one needs cleaning. (She also lives with a pair of Hock Shields while in her stall at night and I have been equally impressed with those from the same company!)

Comments: I buy these and are by far the best for bedsores. Do not pull and do not grab dirt like others. Highly recommend and Riding Warehouse has the best price!

Comments: My little Arabian develops bed sore abrasions on the front of his fetlocks and points of his hocks even though he lives in 24 hour pasture turnout. These fetlock shields are great, they stay on, do not rub, and seem to be machine washable. They basically have an upside-down "V" shape and are light weight and durable. They have a durable outer shell with soft padding and are lined with an inner stretchy material. Best of all, his fetlock abrasions are almost healed!

Comments: These are absolutely, without a doubt, the best for fetlock protection!! I have tried several others and was soooo excited to find something that works!! They are super simple to put on and are very comfortable for my mare. Thank you for making these!! I highly recommend them! There is nothing that compares!!

Comments: This is my second pair - one to use while the other is in the laundry! I bought them for my gelding who is mildly narcoleptic. He falls asleep and catches himself with his fetlocks - resulting in continual scrapes. The smooth interior of this shield is great - nothing sticks to it! I use creams/antibiotics on the wounds and this doesn't stick to it. In the summer, I keep them on him continually out in pasture due to the hard ground. The velcro closure is strong, it has lasted at least a few years and you're able to adjust fit easily. These are great!

Comments: I bought these for my gelding when he had to be in stalled layup during a tendon rehab. The ground was hard DG, great for his tendon, not so great for his fetlocks. He developed hard, thick, callus-like sores on his fetlocks very quickly, but when I discovered these I was able to reverse the process within about a week. Now all the horses who got sores in the DG stalls at my barn wear these and we're all happy with them! I prefer them over upturned bell boots by FAR, since they are squishy and taller. They also don't leave rubs like the bell boots can.
