Constructed from durable, bacteria-resistant Polyethylene, the Ritchie EZ Fount boasts a fully-insulated chamber with a hinged cover to allow for easy access. The smooth, rounded edges and surfaces are easy to clean and prevent build-up of debris, dirt, and bacteria to eliminate the risk of water-borne illness.
The quick-refilling function provides better hydration for all animals using the EZ Fount and the worry-free float system prevents overflow or flooding, reducing water waste. The stand-alone design takes up much less space than traditional rubber or metal tanks and troughs, reducing the environmental footprint.
Ritchie Automatic Watering Systems are all equipped with a universal 1/2" valve ideal for high-pressure water sources that will provide up to 3.4 gallons of filler per minute!

Comments: After a couple of years of wasting great amounts of time trying to install a reliable horse watering device, this finally was the solution. Beautifully constructed, clearly quality throughout, the hose connection could not have been easier, the horse immediately began drinking water without problems. The float level is easy to adjust with a simple wing nut. The water pressure inlet for this device was 40 lb but considering the quality of the valve system I'm sure much higher could have easily been accommodated. This is well worth it and the way the company handled the transaction was top of the line. I am considering buying another one for my other horse.

Comments: My only regret is not purchasing this sooner! This is a great unit! Let me preface my comments with stating that I live in Florida, so I don't have to deal with lots of freezing temperatures. Rarely does it go below freezing, and when it does, it's for a very short period of time. So, your mileage will vary if you live in a cold climate. I love that you can fill the bottom with sand rather than cementing it in. Even with the most mischievous horses (yes, I have one of those!), it's not moving an inch. The connector is a regular hose; no need for a water line. My three horses adapted to it without any issues. My mare that used to love splashing water in the 100-gallon water trough can't waste water like before. And I love that I don't have to drain out a 100-gallon trough once a week!
