A member of the B vitamin family, biotin is a coenzyme that supports the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats for cellular energy production, resulting in long, strong and shiny hair, healthy skin and crack-proof hooves.

Additional Information

Size: 5 lb Container.

Ingredients: D-Biotin, roughage products, calcium carbonate, mineral oil.

Directions for Use: Horses: 2 to 4 tablespoons per day top dressed or mixed with feed. Ponies: 1 to 2 tablespoons per day top dressed or mixed with feed.

Scoop included measures 1 tablespoon or ½ ounce. Biotin 100 contains 6.25mgs of d-Biotin per ounce.

Helps hoof growthI was looking for a product that has just Biotin as I give other supplements. I did not want to overload my horses on other supplements and they just needed something for good hoof growth. This is the product. Even my farrier pointed out the growth of their hooves.

Horses don't mind it and it's priced wellI can't swear this product works. I doubt most people can. You're just providing something for the horse's body and making it avaialable for them to use to build hoof and hair. What I can say is that my horses don't mind the taste at all, if there is any. They've never once slowed down or made a face. These are large tubs that don't cost much, so it's worth trying if and seeing how your horse responds on it. The reason it'll be hard to tell, is your horses grow hoof at different speeds and differently depending on the time of the year. You'll just have to try them on it and see if you notice improvement in your horses.

Good afordable optionMy TB has been barefoot her whole life, but I wanted to keep her feet strong as they were going though a rough patch, so far this has helped after about 5 months of use. Her coat is also very shiny and her tail has finally started to grow longer than ever before.

Hoof conditionStarted using Biotin about a year and a half ago for major cracks in the hoof of one of my Warmbloods. The brittle wall was chipping and cracking leaving very little for the farrier to nail on a shoe. The biotin has strengthened the hoof and the cracks are no longer an issue. Great product that is easy to use.
