New from Acavallo, the Ortho Pubis Gel Western Seat Saver is designed to relieve pressure on the pubis bone. A recess on the front part of the seat saver offers relief and provides balanced weight distribution for the affected rider, therefore making them more comfortable. Made to fit most saddles with a discrete look, the saver is made with a Dri-Lex material. Dri-Lex constitutes a honeycomb pattern gel that is coved with a breathable mesh material that offers the rider traction and a soft feel. Designed for easy maintenance, this western seat saver is perfect for the casual or competitive rider!

The good and the badI love the comfort of this seat saver but am very disappointed in how it is supposed to attach to my western saddle. There are 4 tabs (2 on each side) that are supposed to be tucked down into the seam where the pommel and the seat meet. The tabs are constantly popping out and I'm spending time reinserting them again and again. They've scratched my saddle. I've used it about 10 times and do love the comfort but wish it attached to my saddle in a different way. Also, no directions for installation or care of the piece was included. Disappointed in this purchase.

Would Recommend
Saved my ridingThis pubis gel pad saved my riding. Even having a gaited horse, I could not ride longer than 1 hour. Having radiation ruined my skin and no matter what other pad I used on my saddle I was done after just 1 hour of riding. With this gel pad I am back to riding longer and even days in a row! The only thing is that my specialized saddle doesn't hold the tabs secure on the front of the pad so when I dismount it falls off. I am thinking of getting velcro and putting that on the tabs and my saddle.

No more sorenessWhen you're 71 your skin everywhere thins. I was getting so sore riding. The seat saver saves my lady parts from rubbing and pain. Worth the money!

Comfortable RideWe trail ride all over Missouri, which is vigorous hills and plains riding. Usually, after day two, there is discomfort where I meet the saddle. Since purchasing the Acavallo Ortho-Pubis Western Gel Seat Saver, ALL my riding discomfort has ceased! I'm so very thankful. An added plus is that the seat saver stays in place and doesn't lift me too high out of the seat. I can even keep riding in my old saddle. This was a great purchase; I totally recommend this seat saver for your Western saddle.

Comments: Nicely made, but did not help my discomfort. The edge of the pad made my upper legs sore. I was hoping with the second ride that might go away but got worse. Expensive try. It did relieve pubic area discomfort. Might work better on a wider twist saddle. I was using on Tucker Plantation which has a narrow twist. I have tried in the past gel cushions that as one rides the gel gets thin where my seat bones meet the saddle I was really hoping this would work. Expensive disappointment!
