Family-owned and operated, Kensington is devoted to producing innovative designs that enrich the lives of equines and their human enthusiasts. Their USA-made 1000 x 2000 Denier Textilene products are known for withstanding the wear and tear that horses in paddocks and pastures can dish out, while also looking and fitting great. Recently, Kensington redesigned their fan-favorite SureFit Fly Sheet and added the Uviator Fly Mask and Bubble Fly Boots to their line. These new products, as well as their time-tested existing offerings, ensure horses stay comfortable and protected against flies, stinging insects, and other pests.

New for 2023, Kensington has teamed up with Riding Warehouse to offer our customers an exclusive Ridington Plaid pattern in a mix of navy and grey hues. Read on to discover this lovely pattern in fly sheets, masks, and boots!

Kensington SureFit Fly Sheet

The SureFit Fly Sheet is renowned for withstanding the most destructive equines while keeping them clean and protected from the sun and insects. The SureFit Sheet suits many different sizes and shapes of horses, with adjustable straps and top-notch hardware that stands the test of time. The updated version of this sheet now offers belly arches for increased freedom of movement, plus a removable tail flap.

RDW Crew Review:

"We like the durable and sturdy Textilene mesh fabric of the Kensington SureFit Fly Sheets. Other fly sheets seem to drape and hang off our horses. The Kensington sheets have a 'stiffness' that allows them to stand away from the horse, which seems to help with ventilation and air circulation."

Kensington Textilene Protective Neck Piece

Want to protect your horse's sensitive neck? Consider adding the Kensington Textilene Protective Neck Piece. This thoughtful add-on attaches securely to the SureFit Fly Sheet and your horse's halter via Velcro straps and sewn-in rings, keeping it firmly in place. Two wide Velcro neck closures ensure it remains in place, even after roughhousing in the paddock with equine pals!

RDW Crew Review:

"We feel that the protective neck piece is a must-have, particularly in areas with aggressive flies and biting insects. We also liked the multi-point elastic attachment straps. These allow our horses to comfortably graze, while also keeping the neck piece in place."

Kensington Uviator Fly Mask

The Uviator is the newest addition to Kensington's fly mask offerings. This fly mask has a Solar Screen made of High UV Protective Textilene. Perfect for horses with eye sensitivity to the sun, the Uviator has a 90% UV rating. This means only 10% of the sun's damaging UV rays are able to penetrate the Solar Screen. This mask is dartless and has an elastic-lined bottom for a snug fit. The Uviator Fly Mask comes with or without ears, depending on your equine's preference.

RDW Crew Review:

"While we have to acknowledge that the Uviator masks have a 'buggy' look, we like the additional sun protection provided by the Solar Screen. A number of our horses have sun sensitivity, and blocking 90% of UV rays is undeniably helpful. The dartless cut keeps the mask away from the eye area, which is particularly helpful for horses with sensitive or drippy eyes."

Kensington 73% UV Blocking Fly Masks

The 73% UV Blocking Fly Masks are made in a variety of styles, so you can pick the right one for your horse! Although they might come in different forms, all of these fly masks are made from extremely durable Textilene that is 78% air permeable and 73% UV blocking. A double-locking Velcro closure ensures this mask stays on through rubbing, tugging, and other pony shenanigans!

RDW Crew Review:

"We've liked these fly masks for some years now. Like the Kensington SureFit Fly Sheets, we appreciate the durable (more like indestructible!) nature of Textilene mesh. Many of our horses go out in shared or adjacent paddocks, and biting on their pal's fly mask is the norm. Yet, these fly masks come back unscathed. We also like the multiple configurations offered by Kensington, as each of our horses needs something a bit different. That said, we tend to want to protect those sensitive ears, so the masks with ears are the most popular among our crew."

The Kensington Signature Fly Boots (left) and Fly Bubble Boots (right)

Kensington Signature Textilene Fly Boots

Kensington Signature Fleece Trim Fly boots were created to prevent stomping and leg movements to shoo away flies and other insects. Crafted from the same durable Textilene mesh, these boots can withstand whatever your horse can dish out! Three wide Velcro closures keep these boots in place, while the fleece trim prevents rubbing and leg irritation. These boots are also available in the exclusive Ridington Plaid pattern, so your horse can match from head to hoof!

RDW Crew Review:

"We're big fans of fly boots, as we have concerns about the physical impact of near-constant stomping. We like the sturdy nature of the Kensington Signature Fly Boots, as our horses often try (yet fail) to remove them. The wide Velcro straps do a great job of keeping these boots on and in place. We also appreciate the fleece trim, as other fly boots have rubbed and caused hair loss or abrasions."

Kensington Fly Bubble Boots

Kensington Fly Bubble Boots prevent stomping due to flies while allowing plenty of ventilation to the horse's legs. The non-collapsing design is complete with elastic below the knee and fleece trim to keep the boots in place and abrasion-free. You can even use them over standing bandages for those mouthy steeds who don't like to keep their wraps on!

RDW Crew Review:

"These Bubble Boots are a great innovation! The way that they stand away from the horse's legs is really unique, allowing for plenty of air circulation. We also like to use them over standing wraps for our horses that attack their wraps, particularly in the evenings and nights when we're not around to check on them."
