Surprise reason to buyI put hay in these containers and took a couple to a horse trial. I was amazed to learn how long one bale can last when other people are not "accidentally" using my hay instead of their own.
Keeps hay in my truck bed during long tripsI bought two of these hay bale covers to keep two square bales in my truck bed while I travel to horse camps. Sometimes an unexpected rain shower pops up, and these bags were just perfect to keep the hay dry while traveling to my next destination.
Larger than average bale bagThis is my second World Class Equine hay bag. My original one is still waterproof and functional. I've owned it for over 15 years. I bought this second one so I could have two waterproof bale bags for horse camping. The new bag is large enough for a large, three-string hay bale. I'm confident I can fit two regular hay bales in it. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it.
Bought 7 of these and 3 of 3 trips all bales have gotten wet. Very disappointing.

Comments: This is probably the best bale bag I have come across. The material is very heavy duty, all of the stitching is top-notch, and the zipper is very high quality. I left this bag out overnight during a rain storm and my bale was 100% dry in the morning. You can't go wrong with this bag!

Comments: These bags are not waterproof. I was camping for 3 weeks and the 5 hay bags were on the roof of the horse trailer. We had quite a bit of rain. I have a photo of the water damage which I can send. The consequence was mold and with hay being 40.00/ 105 lb bale, it was disappointing to have to peel off the wet bits. I have the previous style of the bag with the 2 grab handles and the new ones with the strap all the way around. The wet spots on the old version (which I find way easier to lift with a friend) were less - just 2 corners at the bottom where the seam ends. The new ones had wet across the full area where the straps are - they are stitched all the way through so the water eventually leaked in there, plus a bit at the bottom corners.
