Overview

Going on an adventure? Then be sure to bring all your necessities along in the Tucker Adventurer Saddle Bag Full Set! Complete with a pommel and cantle bag, these large saddlebags hold everything you need for an extended trip without needing a packhorse. Designed with 1680 water-resistant denier, the sturdy construction ensures you won't lose your essentials out on the trail. Both bags also contain a waterproof cover that can be used over the saddlebags or your saddle to keep it dry.

The pommel bag features two large compartments on either side, with one side containing a water bladder with a bite valve. This allows for easy water storage and hand-free access when riding. Three smaller compartments line the middle of the pack and are perfect for small items such as a cell phone, GPS, or knife. The contoured design allows the pack to fit nicely next to your saddle while a four-point connection system keeps the pommel bag stable and reduces bounce.

The cantle bag has a smaller detachable cantle bag that can be removed and used on its own for shorter trips. Under the smaller bag, the center contains compression snaps with side-release buckles for jackets or bedrolls to be brought along. Both sides of the cantle bag feature ample storage compartments with one side containing a plastic snap-in bag to keep your electronics safe from water exposure. Two easy-access water bottle compartments allow you to stay hydrated while the fleece lining protects your horse from rubbing. Compression straps along the side keep the cantle bag in place and can be customized to your rigging.

For your horse's comfort, both packs are built on a foam base for cushioning while the fleece bottom prevents rubbing no matter how many hours you spend in the saddle.

sadTucker saddles are the best, most comfortable, high quality trail saddles so I was excited to see they were making saddle bags. Someone, probably a team of someones, who obviously were people who actually use saddlebags, put a ton of thought into the design of these bags. There are many pockets and places to quick attach clothing and items including cup holders. The fleece backing is nice to keep the horse cool and reduce rubbing. The size is perfect. Big enough to pack all your stuff, but not so big they sag down your horse too far. They have two attachment points to the saddle so they don't slip back or from side to side. You can use the minimum amount of space for day rides or pack it full, add the cantle bag and pommel bag and go for the night. They topped it all off with tough, rip-stop, water resistant material and a rain cover that also can be a saddle cover, in it's own pocket, just in case. Then, they sewed it all together with the cheapest and weakest thread they could find. Wait, What?! I returned and bought a second set just because I couldn't believe that Tucker made such a bad product. I thought it had to be just that one. But no. All the saddle bag products are the same. The strap on the pommel cup holder also just fell off. One or two uses and they just fall apart! The straps come off and even the actual bags rip off at the seams. Shame on you, Tucker. I hope the extra few bucks you saved per set is worth sullying your reputation as a company that produces quality horse tack and gear. I won't buy a Tucker, either when it's time for a new saddle nor recommend one to others. Obviously, this company has gone downhill in their observance to quality.

My Go-to Backcountry SaddlebagsEvery summer when I hit the backcountry trails for several months of packing and camping with my horses and mule, these are the saddlebags I rely on to get the job done. I love the multiple compartments that keep my gear organized, so I can always find what I am looking for, with large spaces for bulky items and plenty of smaller pockets to hold all the bits and pieces that otherwise get lost at the bottom. I'm also a big fan of the way the bags secure to the saddle using multiple straps that I can tighten to make sure the load stays centered and doesn't shift on difficult mountain terrain. Tucker included lots of other extras, such as fleece lining to protect your horse from hair loss due to rubs, a rain cover (though the material is already strongly rain resistant), and even a water bladder so you can drink hands-free if you prefer. I do recommend that you order the black or brown bags, which have additional reinforced stitching, as they hold up to heavy loads and tough trail wear better. But I think once you try these versatile, convenient saddlebags you'll never go back to the old-fashioned kind with just one big pouch that ties on by the saddle strings. Happy Trails!
