Key Features
-
Non-ToxicNon-Toxic
Bits that are made from non-toxic materials, unlike most plastics, rubbers, and metals, are a safer option for horses who need a gentler bit.
-
Increased PalatabilityIncreased Palatability
Bits that increase palatability often incorporate sweet metals (such as copper and iron) or flavored plastics which encourage the horse to salivate, relax their jaw, and accept the bit. They may be inlaid into the bars, be the roller or lozenge, or make up the entire bar.
-
Leverage PressureLeverage Pressure
These bits use indirect pressure that multiplies the amount of force exerted on the horse's mouth, nose, or poll. They are used by riders who have little to no contact or are looking for more finesse and control.
-
Direct PressureDirect Pressure
Bits that use direct pressure have a 1:1 ratio where the pressure exerted on the reins will be the same pressure felt in the mouth. They are used by riders who often have contact with their horse's mouth.
The Stubben Fine Line Flex Loose Ring Snaffle Bit is an excellent choice for sensitive horses or riders working on consistent connection. Crafted from high-quality, food-grade plastic, this gentle mouthpiece offers a much warmer feel than traditional metal bits, encouraging acceptance. A concealed steel core ensures the bit maintains its structural integrity and safety, reducing the risk of breakage. Designed with an anatomical mullen mouth, it lies evenly across the tongue and bars, while the center curve offers tongue relief and reduces pressure. Additionally, the sliding action of the loose ring cheekpieces allows your horse to naturally position the bit where it is most comfortable, promoting a soft, responsive mouth.

Additional Information
Sizing Guide:
If you already have a bit that fits your horse well, you can use it as a reference for choosing the correct size.
If not, measure your horse's mouth width by placing a bit sizer or a soft cord/string in the mouth at the position where the bit will sit, mark the ends, then measure the distance. The bit width should be such that the rings rest just outside (or very slightly beyond) the lip corners. If the bit is too narrow, it will pinch; too wide, it will shift side to side. For loose ring bits, allow a little "play" (1cm on one side) so the rings can rotate freely without pinching the lips.
Care Instructions:
After each ride, rinse or wipe the bit to remove saliva residues. Once cleaned, dry the bit with a towel.
