Product Details

More from Stubben About the Equi-Soft Girth: The Equi-Soft girth, when properly adjusted, effectively deals with the constriction by giving in all directions and markedly reducing the tension.  This frees the underlying musculature, allows better circulation, and decreases the restriction of motion of the gut.  As respiration is enhanced and the horse experiences less discomfort, pulse rate has been shown to be reduced during exercise.  Since the muscles are less restricted, lateral flexibility is enhanced as well as the horse’s ability to employ the external obliques, serratus and other abdominal muscles necessary to support the topline.  This is manifested in greater extension of the foreleg and more active employment of the hind quarters.

Finally the perfect girth! This Equi-Soft girth ended my journey of buying dressage girths, and I couldn't be happier. My OTTB has super soft, sensitive skin, and he doesn't love girths being very tight. This girth allows my gelding to move freely. On the very first ride, I knew it was a winner; he had no anxiety during tightening, and he was more relaxed under saddle. I waited to write a review after using the girth for a couple of months, and it is still a winner. Absolutely worth the price.

Best girth for a girthy horseI own every girth known to man, and this is the only one that makes my sensitive mare happy (she moves out more freely, lifts her back more, and stopped stepping from side-to-side and blowing herself up while being girthed. I did buy mine from another supplier before RW started carrying it, and I own the all-leather version which is very soft and doesn’t pick up debris like sheepskin might.

Comments: I bought this girth from another supplier before RW started carrying it. My super-sensitive horse loves it! Stretchy but secure. I would recommend for horses who are sensitive or need a looser girthing option that is still stable.

Comments: I bought this along with a couple of other anatomical dressage girths. I was initially happy with this, more that the design makes theoretical sense in my head than actual observations. Until I realized that my horse started turning her head around first poking at my foot, then actually lightly nipping at my foot. When switching girths, she stopped. I've since examined the girth. There are at least two places where PINCHING VERY EASILY OCCURS: (1) The attachment between girth and the billets. The leather straps that continue up from the girth are separated, and have no protection underneath, meaning that even if perfectly placed when a saddle is put on, these can very easily move and thus pinch skin in-between these two straps. (2) I got the fleece/fur base, this has different sections, in order to what theoretically sounds good: so these different parts can 'give', however, this can also very easily lead to pinching as the sides of the part touch, and are firm and hard (as should be). If none of that makes sense, go and see one in person, and you'll see what I mean. It seems like this girth pinches my horse, and I can see at least two design flaws that make this possible. This girth is now lying around collecting dust in our tack-room (after like 4 uses) so no, I cannot recommend this girth.
