Overview
Offering enhanced communication through versatility, the Shires Sweet Iron Bevel Bit is a must-have for any serious equestrian's tackbox. With four different rein-placement options for varying degrees of leverage, control, and contact, you can select how much pressure you wish to exert.
Promoting gentle, yet effective bit action, the oval link in the mouthpiece relieves pressure on the tongue, thus eliminating the nutcracker effect when reins are applied. Due to the rounder nature and jointed feature, this mouthpiece is slightly milder without sacrificing control. The sweet iron mouthpiece and copper link encourage softness, salivation, and acceptance of the bit.

Customer Reviews
Be aware of sizing! This bit was just as described, except for one really important feature! On the website, there is no explanation of the fact that buyers should order a size that accounts for a quarter inch of clearance on each side of the horse's mouth. For example, my horse typically wears a 5" in bits, so that's what I bought; however when the bit arrived, the tag described that the bit required a quarter inch of clearance on each side, which means we needed a 5.5" bit. Riding Warehouse should really add this!
