The Sanft German Silver 3-Piece Baucher is a great bit for a variety of horses. German silver promotes softness and salivation throughout your ride. The curved bar shape allows this bit to contour to your horse's mouth while the center lozenge avoids pinching the tongue and creating the "nutcracker" effect. Perfect bit!I have tried a variety of snaffles for my Haflinger. He goes well in a double bridle but I like to ride in a snaffle bit too. It is a thicker bit and he has a big fat tongue, but he just loves it. He is quiet in his mouth at the walk and reaches without leaning as we proceed in the work. He gets a foamy mouth but not overly so from just fussing with the bit. He does tend to lean in some bits, but not this one.
No need to reinvent the Baucher snaffleNicely made bit, but putting a bend in the purchase above the rings is not an improvement since the bit is supposed to provide more stability than a standard snaffle.
Wonderful bitThis bit is wonderful! My 8-year-old Arabian accepted this and tosses his head less with it. He’s super sensitive in the mouth and rejects pressure by throwing his head around or tossing his head higher, trying to get away from the bit. He was also salivating a ton when I first gave it to him. I’ve never seen him do that before. Love having this bit in my barn.
Made a new horse!!I bought this bit after seeking help from Riding Warehouse. Told them that my horse tosses his head and is super sensitive to bits. The slightest pressure and he’s throwing his head up to get away from it. They recommended this bit or the JP Curve Korsteel Copper Oval Link Eggbut Snaffle Bit. I chose this Baucher but first to try out.
I feel like I have a new horse!!! I’ve never felt him like this before and I’m super excited at how well he accepted the bit and handled it on our trail ride this evening. He was salivating as soon as I put it him his mouth and he seemed quite happy with it. I do want to try the second bit that Riding Warehouse recommended. They were SUPER helpful!! 10 for 10!!!
