Product Details

What is "Tailing?"
Tailing is when a rider gets off their horse on the trail, usually going uphill. The rider threads the tailing line through their stirrup and takes hold of the tail of their horse to be pulled up the hill. This gives the horse a break, as the rider's weight is off his back. This also makes the climb easier for the rider, in contrast to hiking and leading the horse in a traditional manner.

small but longI was looking for a lead rope/line that I could easily store for trail riding, wrapping it up or hanging it on my endurance saddle. This fits in a small saddle sack and I still have room inside for my cell phone.

Previous Feedback

Comments: What a great little rope. It is about half of the thickness of a regular leadline and quite light to pack. I actually used it to tie this weekend and the length was enough to do an overhead tie up on a tree branch with room to move. Matched my blue Zilco tack too :). Will be trying it for tailing next weekend.
