Great bitless optionMy vet recommended finding a bitless bridle for my 27-year-old QH since he was having TMJ and teeth issues. I found a hackamore bridle and used this hackamore with it. My horse loves it! He no longer tosses his head or gets fussy with his mouth. It made a huge improvement for him. I ride English and he can do basic flatwork in a nice happy frame. I was also impressed with the quality of the leather and the nice weight of the metal pieces.
stabs cheekI like the smaller amount of leverage this hackamore offers but when doing an opening rein or any lateral rein movement the cheekpiece stabs into the horse's cheek. I would need to teach our horse more of a neck reining turning aid where the reins stay close to the horse's neck.
