Additional Information
Warranty:
Please note that NibbleNet cannot be responsible for damage caused by horse or owner. Please inspect the bag when you receive it for manufacturing defects. If you find a defect within 5 days, please contact Riding Warehouse. Understand, that after the bag is used, it is not a manufacturing defect. Horses can be rough on things. Please observe your horse and remove the bag should you see potential problems arise. Periodically bags will need repair or replacement. This will depend on the horse and the environment. Nibblenet does not do repairs. However, they have carefully designed these bags to be easily repaired by any canvas shop, saddle maker, shoe repair shop, or someone who repairs winter blankets. An industrial machine is all that is needed.
Design & Function:
The NibbleNet® Hay Bag is an excellent choice for horses suffering from feed-related health issues, such as laminitis or obesity. The structure of the poly webbing grid prevents horses from gulping down big mouthfuls and instead encourages one-bite-at-a-time eating. Slowing the "grazing" down optimizes digestion and keeps the horse busy for much longer, preventing boredom and the development of bad habits such as chewing or cribbing -- an ideal solution for horses that do not have much turn out time.
A heavy-duty poly webbing strap is included with each bag, and additional NibbleNet® Straps can be purchased if necessary. Two sets of heavy duty stainless steel D-rings make hanging the back from a wall or fence easy while also allowing easy and secure closure of the top, preventing the horse from pulling hay from the top. Additional D-Rings at the bottom corners allow for additional attachment or security along a fence or in a trailer.
Materials & Construction:
The undeniable quality of construction and heavy-duty outdoor materials make the NibbleNet® far superior to any similar hay bags on the market. The back and sides are constructed from ultra heavy duty 22 ounce vinyl designed to stand up to harsh elements. With superior tear, puncture and abrasion resistance, this material also boasts excellent UV and weather protection with a -40 degree rating!
The exclusive 1.25" poly webbing grid is custom-woven to ensure ultimate strength without sacrificing flexibility - this webbing will not get stiff or hard even after years of use. A tight weave resists dirt and moisture absorption, keeping the material free of rot or mildew and prevents shrinking or stretching. Commercial glue and additional stitching reinforcements ensure longevity, even against the toughest of horses!
Previous Feedback
Comments: Yes, it is pretty sturdy, but it won't last forever. My animals pick up their Nibblenets and shake them until all the short, loose hay falls out. Then they vacuum up all those little pieces of hay, so don't use a Nibblenet unless you have sand free feeding areas. Eventually all that shaking and pulling rips out the stitches where the straps cross that make up the net, and then they stick their noses in and easily get the hay, and it's no longer a slow feeder - now they finish up their (small) meals in 45 minutes. I feed 3 times a day and I wish the hay lasted longer. And I can't give them more hay because they are very easy keepers - they are mules!
