I have to say I was a bit skeptical about purchasing these spurs. I have a young horse that has been pretty dull to my leg. I was using a small rowel spur to get him going. But, I ended up creating a bald spot from the spur. So, I thought I'd try this ball spurs, but ESPECIALLY because they were horizontal. I had been told the horizontal spurs are less likely to leave spur marks. Turns out... I LOVE them. Believe it or not, my young horse is more responsive to these kinder spurs than the rowel ones I was using. No more spurs marks on his sides. He's doing great! I've even used them on my upper-level dressage horse. I definitely would recommend these spurs for anyone! Very effective, yet kind to your horse! A win-win!
