Overview
The Vector Control Stirrups from LeMieux offer superior safety while remaining lightweight and stylish!
Crafted from durable, lightweight aviation-grade aluminum, these stirrups feature an ergonomic footplate set at a 0-degree angle with an aggressive cross-track and spike surface for security on the flat or over fences. The footbed is mounted on an impact-absorbing cushion layer of dynamic polymer, which offers a 70% compression rating. The footplate is supported by a twin balance arch system that works to evenly distribute weight across the base of the frame. The frame is offset at a 45-degree angle to allow for ease of finding a lost stirrup. The safety arm has a two-stage release system to ensure the arm only opens when needed!

Almost perfectIf someone could make a safety stirrup with an offset eye, I think I would be in bliss. As it is, my own conformational faults (and age) cause me to occasionally lose my right stirrup and contribute to the odds that I am eventually going to hit the ground. Changing to a lightweight safety stirrup with increased traction was a no-brainer, and Vector Control is a well-made product that definitely helped with my issues. My joints, however, did not appreciate the added traction and are taking some getting used to. I think an offset eye might decrease the torque on my old hips and knees. All-in-all a great product. I'm volunteering to test the the prototype should LeMieux start a new line!
I love these stirrupsThese are really wonderful for me. I got them just before my first horse trial, and I felt so secure in them. I love the offset angle at the top. I also feel the shock absorption without feeling that the stirrup is giving underneath me, which I wouldn't want. I went for these without the 5 degree footbed, but that's just personal preference. These are perfect stirrups for me. I wouldn't change a thing. And they're at a lower price point than some of the safety stirrups on the market. Worth a try if you're looking for stirrups. One thing to be aware of is that you need to be careful when bringing your stirrups up and down on the leathers so you don't scratch the leathers, but that's not hard and is well worth it. I keep stirrup covers on them for storage.
