Overview
The Keratex Hoof Putty is an easy-to-use malleable wax that is effective in treating both fungal and bacterial problems, making it a must-have for every equestrian at-home veterinary toolbox. Containing broad-spectrum disinfectants, you can use this putty to fill cavities in the hoof, sealing, and waterproofing wounds from stones, dirt, manure, urine, and other sources of infection. The Keratex Hoof Putty is recommended for treating seedy toes, after removing abscesses, and separation of the hoof horn, and can be used in shod and unshod hooves.
The putty has enough rigidity and strength to support drain tubes through which fluids can be vented, or which medication can be injected. Because it is self-adhesive and flexible, no maintenance is required once it is in place.

Instructions For Use:
Work between the fingers to warm and soften it before application. As it softens Karatex Hoof Putty becomes very tacky and malleable. It is easy to press into the cavity and get good adhesion. Once inserted, Keratex Hoof Putty hardens to its former state, providing a good seal against water and dirt and immediately starts the slow release of disinfectants into the cavity. For large areas, it is recommended to heat the wax to a liquid state and pour it into the defect. Make sure to hold the foot up until the putty has cooled enough to stay in place.
