Not as expectedMaybe my own fault for not making absolutely sure I was buying the exact same halter that I was replacing, but for the same price as my original halter, I definitely got one of lesser quality. It's all patent leather: soft, squishy, and squeaky! My original Henri de Rivel halter was a padded solid leather halter. Have had it for years and loved it. When my horse was tied in a wash stall and got stung by a bee, it took considerable thrashing on my horse's part before this halter gave out. This new one, which is all padded leather only and would not hold up to any amount of struggle from the horse, is not what I thought I was buying. I don't recall the labeling on the online product noting that it was Kushy. But, this may be my own fault. Beware, make sure the description clearly represents the product and that it's what you are looking for.

CheapSqueaky, cheap feeling and looks like plastic. I got this because my mare broke her Henri de Revel halter (and I have another for another horse). This is nothing like the others. Even the throatlatch clip is cheap metal. I should have gone to my local tack store.

Comments: Just received this beautiful halter. It is exceptionally soft, and well-padded. The over-size is a bit large on my haflinger mare, that normally takes an over-sized halter. Because of the padding on the crown piece, it looks like adding extra holes will be difficult. I'm ordering a regular horse replacement crown to see if this will solve the problem. A very nice quality leather halter for the price.
