Great all-purpose brushThis brush is great for the mane and tail with a detangler, or as a body brush. It works better than the paddle-style brushes for thick manes and tails because it doesn't rip out the hair. Put Vetrolin detangler in a ring on the outer edge of the bristle tips, and then brush the mane and tail from both the underside and from above. This brush washes and dries easily because it is synthetic. It also makes a fantastic body brush after any caked mud has been broken up with a stiff brush, but keep a dedicated detangler brush so that you don't use it on the saddle area to avoid saddle slippage from the detangler. I like this brush better than the Haas Groovy brush, because it is narrower and easier to grip, but longer so you cover more of the horse faster. Also the tufts of bristles are spaced apart a little more than the Groovy brush, so it is easier to get out any dirt and hair caked deep into the brush. If your horse has a smelly tail, it's nice to have a dedicated tail-only brush so you don't spread that.

Comments: This is an incredibly well-made brush for the price. Unlike other long-bristled "flick" brushes I've tried, this one has held up with the bristles keeping their shape even when tossed haphazardly in a grooming tote with other things. It is a great usable size, not too clunky, and the bristles are just stiff enough to lift horse dirt without being too stiff for my sensitive-skinned mare.
