Not as good as expectedI really wanted to like this brush because so many people I know rave about them. I like how flexible it is, but it does NOT work on thicker manes. I'm a careful brusher and I could not get this to work on any of the tangled thick manes and tails at my place. It worked well on the one horse with a pretty silky and straight mane, but I was disappointed using it on others. I think this is great for hunters with short pulled manes, but not ideal for substantial manes.
The only mane and tail brush I'll use!Gentle and effective. My gelding is sensitive about having his mane brushed, so standard combs with stiff or rigid teeth are out. He doesn't mind the Epona brush nearly as much, largely thanks to its flexibility. It pulls less and doesn't rip out nearly as much hair as other combs. This is now the only mane and tail brush I keep in my grooming kit. Same for the entire barn! I've been using mine daily for about a year, and it's holding up well.
Very gentle comb!I own a number of Epona products and have always been a fan of their quality and innovation. This mane and tail comb is no exception - I'm very pleased with it!! It is flexible and gentle yet very effective at easily removing tangles without snagging and pulling. My horse often gets uneasy when combing out his mane near his ears, but he did not mind this brush one bit! He seemed more comfortable. I also noticed that I pulled out less hair with this comb versus others. Epona does not disappoint!!
