Still the best bootI find the Easycare Gloves to remain the best boot on the market. They fit well, are and are easy to take off and clean. Now if Easycare could just come up with a solution to foxtails sticking to the Velcro they would be perfect.

Previous Feedback

Comments: We had used Cavallo Trek boots for many years for a "recovering laminitic" (arena riding only) and I wanted to see if I could find something that was less bulky. Originally, we tried the Scoot Boots but my geldings heels were too tall so the boots did not work. The boot part didn't handle the flaring in his hooves either. For the Fury Slings, I originally ordered the Easycare Fit Kit (through Easycare) to see if the shell would work and it seemed to accommodate the flaring a bit better. After determining the correct size, I ordered through RW. The adjustable heel sling made it possible to use these boots and also stayed away from a previous heel rub area that was healing. As the hoof flaring has improved over time, the shell portion improved in fit though one hoof still shows a little gap at the top. Originally, we did some lunge line trials and the horse was definitely more comfortable with them on than barefoot even though there are no pads. It did take some tinkering to figure out the heel length and I think there could be more instructions on how to judge it. I was sure to apply the loctite to the screws once we decided on the dimensions. We used them regularly for a while but as he became less footsore over time (Easycare Clouds were helpful too), we stopped using them. However, after a break, we tried them again and thought that maybe he went just a little better with them on than without them so we'll use them again for a while. In terms of negative comments, we do get dirt/sand/grit in the boot shell and in the gap where the heel adjustment piece slides back/forth. While it is not a problem to clean the grit from the shell after a ride, it is harder to clean the grit out in the other section. I don't know if it will be a problem or not in the long run. We have also noticed the screws can cause scrapes if the horse rubs one hoof against another. The shell seems durable enough but I thought I'd mention it. I do find hooking the pastern strap over the screw can be a little difficult. It seems like it has to be lined up just right to go on. Overall, I like the boots and the adjustability is definitely useful for us. However, we are using them on very easy terrain so they don't have the same stress as trail rides.

Comments: I bought a pair of slings and a pair of the hearts--I left a review for those as well. The slings worked great for 12 miles on a technical mountainous endurance ride. I ordered the neoprene gaiters but they were back ordered and didn't make the ride. Unfortunately, the blue foam gaiter tore about a half inch down the center between the heel bulbs and alas the boot finished the endurance ride in my saddle bag. It's mate has a new life on the side of a lovely mountain in TN. The Y strap popped off and fortunately was spotted right away and replaced. Not sure if it came off again or tore like the other boot, but my $100 purchase (with y strap) lasted about 12.5 miles and the other is damaged. I lost both boots within 10 minutes of each other and my horse finished the rest of the 30 mile ride barefoot in the rears. I was sure of the fit on them before leaving. Another girl on the trail had four slings and all four came off/fell apart during the ride, per the rider she had boots fitted professionally but lost screws---but that was not my experience, so I will not say any more other than her horse had some very sore feet. Back to my own experience, the screws did not fall out on the torn boot that I still have, the loctite kept the screws very tight. They gaiters did rub the hair off by horse but did not cause and real damage because they didn't stay on long enough to. I had a bad initial experience. I think these boots are a very neat concept fit wise and I like that they drain water. Like I said, I'm sure of the fit I went out with, I watched the videos SEVERAL times and made many minor adjustments. Because I don't want to poo poo on easy boot, I will say that I have had good success with it's other lines. The same horse has easyboot back country gloves that work wonderfully for endurance. The gaiters are worn (expected wear) and I decided to try this boot instead or replacing the pieces. My other horse wears gloves. These boots were a very neat concept but flopped when put to the test.

Comments: These looked interesting. I used GLoves for many years and hated the velcro and my horse didn't care for the gaiters on his back legs. I switched to Scoot Boots last year and have been quite pleased with them. Thought I'd try these as it is time for new boots. They don't seem to fit my horse very well. One size won't go on and the next size up I can twist it, which according to the video isn't right. They are heavier than Scoots and more complicated. I didn't use the lock tite since I was just doing a brief trial in the round pen. Sure enough I lost a screw already. They are short screws. I'm going to pass on these unless I have future issues with Scoots. I'm not real impressed. Would be nice if RW would carry Scoots!

Comments: Terrific design! After decades of using just about every other hoof boot out there (including almost every Easyboot made), I have to say this was worth the wait. At the moment, I'm using the boot for 24-7 therapy (chronic low-grade laminitis that flares on occasion), and appreciate the fact that I can adjust the height and length as my gelding's hoof changes. When we're back on the trail, I'll use the Locktite on the screws, but even without it the boots stay perfectly in place with no rubbing, even after bucking, running, and playing hard. The minimalist design doesn't trap heat like a therapy boot, and it has more concussion support than other boots...although there's room for a pad if you need it. No need to pound it on for a tight fit, just wiggle into place. I ordered the y-strap from Easy Care, which makes it even more stable and adjustable than the pastern strap. Good job, Easy Care!

Comments: I am very happy with this boot. My horse has underrun heels and none of the other boots fit well. His feet are too long for the wide Glove boots but too short for the regular ones. His heels are too high for Scoot boots. Fitting these boots initially is a pain. It takes a lot of time to get the length and height right. Then, you have to take the screws out and put Locktite on them. Since I didn't have a band saw or nippers, I had to purchase a small trim hand saw to trim the back. Once I got thru all that, they were so easy to put on and my horse gaited beautifully in them. There was no rubbing even riding in a sand arena. The performance is well worth the initial hassle of fitting them.

Comments: So far I'm really happy with these boots. For any boot fit is very important and these fit well and the adjustment ability is really nice. They are easy to put on, stay on and don't rub. Great boots!

Comments: I was very excited to try these out and needed them before June 15th, so I upped the delivery speed. I had plans to ride 2 days in a row so I would be able to make adjustments and get the best fit of the boot to my horse. Adjustments were made and I set out on trail. About half way through, I looked down to check for the boot retention and one was gone. I thought it sucked off in a clay mud bog. We continued our ride and I removed the 1 remaining boot, which seemed to be doing just fine. A friend of mine found my lost boot the following day and as it turns out the inside metal fastener back for the heel sling screw had come undone and that's why the boot was lost. To replace that 1 tiny metal scree back, I had to purchase a $36 accessories kit from easycare. Then in order to get it here in time for the 15th, I had to up my shipping speed and that's $23 for 3 business days! I'm not a happy camper right now.

Comments: I have been using Easyboots (mainly the Glove) for many years. My horse would always twist the hinds off so I had gone to doing Glue On's, either the Love Childs or the Flip Flops. These came out so I thought I would give them a try to see if we could keep the hinds on. Lost a screw almost immediately while transporting the boots from fitting, to go apply the LocTite. Tried them on an endurance ride- lost a front boot. I have never had a front come off with the Gloves. The hinds rubbed the back of my horse's pasterns raw. Of course I just missed the 45 day window to return them. Not happy with them at all. Back to good old Gloves.
