Comments: I purchased Cloud boots, instead of Stratus model after speaking to Easy Care about them being discontinued. The reason was that the Clouds seemed to be just as durable and have been more popular due to pricing and cooler. My Arab Cross with small pasterns has left the top flap of velcro approx. 2" too long and they have curled over. I would recommend that Easy Care, stitch across the top strap in several spots so customers can cut off excess themselves. I feel that If I cut them the whole velcro will just tear off. Also the rear, heel cover part of one boot is worn, frayed, and catching snow and mud after months of wear. Note, the horse is in a small dry lot paddock not a box stall and is wearing boots for 22 hours a day. Also, RW could suggest the purchase of a small cleaning brush to help knock off dirt and or snow.

Comments: I purchased a pair of Easyboot Cloud boots about 2 months ago. I have a "recovering laminitic" gelding and X-rays had shown his soles were on the thin side. As the ground dried out in the summer, he was starting to get foot sore. (He has a strict diet and his feet are trimmed regularly.) Originally, I tried using the Cavallos Treks with pads that were used for riding. While his foot comfort increased, I started to battle heel rubs. After looking at various options, I decided to try the Clouds and it was definitely the right decision. He started to walk confidently in his paddock and no more tenderness as he walked out of his stall. The concavity in his hooves has definitely increased and he can walk w/o the boots now on hard ground. Now I prefer to use them to keep his feet clean and even though they are not waterproof, there is still enough protection/height at the base of the boot to keep his hooves fairly clean/dry when he steps into puddles. I have kept them on his hoo ves for almost 48 hours since I don't go to the barn every day. I add Gold Bond powder and I'm sure to clean out the inside and let them air out (in the sun, if possible) when he is worked. Absolutely no signs of heel rubs. In terms of durability, the pads squished down as expected but I have not felt the need to replace them but he is only walking in them in a small paddock. The velcro straps have proved to be very strong. There has been some fraying at the top of one of the straps but it hasn't gone very far. On one boot, the fabric pulled away from one part of the inside heel seam. The stitching is still intact, it hasn't gotten worse and doesn't affect the boot's function. My guess is that area got more stress somehow and got a little more wear and pulled loose. I have had a few times when he put his foot down before it was completely in the boot so he stepped on the back edge but the boots seemed unaffected. On a normal basis, he only walks, stand, and sleeps with them so I can't speak to durability in a more active situation. We call them his "bedroom slippers." :-) I wish that I had started using these boots sooner. Overall, a worthwhile purchase and I appreciated the fast delivery from Riding Warehouse.

Comments: These boots are essential for my horse! My horse has navicular and barefoot. She wears these all night in her stall and they are perfect because they provide comfort and support. They are pretty breathable and stay on in the stall. Without these boots my mare would be sore and have a much harder time being barefoot. I use them long term. They can cause rubs to the back of the heel without using socks. I am so grateful this product keeps my best friend feeling her best despite her navicular.

Comments: Bought these for my mare who was dealing with clearing some deep seated abcesses in her front hooves. For wrapping/poulticing, you will need to order a size up for them to fit and I also took out the inner blue pad. I used a animalintex Poultice pad, diaper, sprinkle of Gold Bond foot powder and vet wrap around it all. Once the abcesses were cleared, I put the blue pads back in and only used powder, cotton wrapping and vet wrap. They fit in nice and snug. Also liberally sprinkled foot powder into the boot. They stayed on night and day for almost two weeks (They do recommend 12 on, 12 off, but when you are dealing with open abscess, you can't leave hooves unwrapped). I only had a rub issue above one fetlock joint from the inner flap of the boot. I just made sure to keep it a bit loose and to cover the joint in a sock or a little vet wrap.

Comments:I bought these for my horse with Cushings disease, going through a severe bout of laminitis. I have been using them for about three months. The boots gave him instant relief. The first thing I liked about them, was the generous sizing. I have Gloves for my other horses and if you are a tiny bit off, they will not fit. My horse was having a difficult time even picking up one foot due to pain, so my measuring had to be fast. I had them shipped 2-day air (for a very reasonable price) because my horse needed these ASAP! Of course, I was concerned about fit since he needed them so badly, but they fit him well. They are not as snug as a Glove, and I appreciated that, as I'm sure other caretakers of laminitic horses do, because some days, a quick rasp to get the right fit may not be possible because of hoof pain. If you have seconds to get the boot on, which sometimes is the case for me, because my horse is in a lot of pain, they are easy to get on. They are sturdy too, as a few times, he had to put his foot down before I could make sure they were on straight, and he stepped on the back. The boots were fine; it didn't damage them at all. The Velcro on the straps did fray after the first few days, which worried me, but the boots have held up now for three months of daily wear. The pads wore fast though, and were compressed to less than half the thickness in a week! So, I had to order more pads. The pads make all the difference. When I put the new ones in, he felt better. So, if you have a horse with severe laminitis, I'd order an extra set of pads with the boots. I would not advice doubling up used compressed ones in one boot (as I did while I was waiting for new pads to arrive), because it caused the front of the boot to rub and my horse got a sore at the hairline of his hoof (coronet band). My horse would have loved to have these on permanently (which of course, I knew wasn’t possible), so I called EasyCare to ask how long they recommended to keep them on. They told me 12 hours on and 12 hours off. I keep them on much longer than that. They do hold moisture, although the material is thin, and the best method I've found, aside from setting them next to a fireplace to dry, has been stuffing them with newspaper. They have stayed on through mud and the many times a day my horse lays down and gets up again (they've never tripped him up or gotten caught). They are easy to get on and off, and there are days my horse wouldn't move without them (and bute). He has had a few days where he has felt well enough to trot, and although I was worried since they are more like a slipper than a boot, he was able to trot in them. He is on a dry lot most of the time and doesn't move that fast, but on his better days, he is on our track system with the rest of the herd and walks up and down hills and over obstacles. He is an older, slower moving horse, and I don't know that they'd hold up if one of my younger Arabians were wearing them on our track, since they tend to be more animated. I would recommend these boots for laminitis or other hoof-related problems.
