Beautiful, well-made bridleThis bridle is soft and supple, great quality, and looks fantastic! True to size. Highly recommend!
Nice mid-grade bridleIt's a nice, mid-quality bridle especially for the price. I foresee it holding up for many years. The leather is supple. As others have stated, it has dark stained spots in a couple places, but I can live with that, plus they are not very obvious. The noseband bulks out at the curve because of a crease where the stitching is. Again something I can live with, and may improve with break in. It looks very nice and fits my horse beautifully in size, and he seems comfortable wearing it. The reins are nice as well with soft, flexible rubber. I am quite happy with it.
Runs bigI bought this bridle for my Dutch Warmblood mare and the cob size fits her really well. She typically wears a horse size in other brands but the browband is usually way too big. I heard this ran on the larger side so I ordered the cob size instead of horse and it looks custom-made for her.
Love This Bridle!I purchased this bridle for my Buckskin Paint QH in 2017, and it is still living strong today! I am rough on my tack, and this bridle has survived me for 5 years of eventing, fox hunting, trail riding, lessons, and clinics! I love it so much, I had to buy one for my new guy! Highly recommend! It looks so sharp on, and very classy. I receive many compliments.
Not bad, but...I bought this bridle as a replacement for the Kavalkade Filip my horse broke. I wanted another Filip but apparently, it's been discontinued. I was disappointed by the quality of the Ivy bridle. The leather was greasy (can be cleaned and conditioned) a buckle prong was bent (bottom of the cheek strap), the metal brand badge on the browband was not centered, and black paint smears on the noseband. The cheekpieces were shorter. All those issues I could live with by swapping out parts with my Filip. But the anatomical crown piece is not the same shape as my Filip so it pinches my horse's big ears. I will keep looking for a replacement, the Ivy just doesn't do the job. And I hope it isn't indicative of a decline in quality strap goods at Kavalkade.

Comments: I purchased this bridle, then decided to google some reviews on it since I couldn't find any reviews on Riding Warehouse. Many reviews complained about the sizing and the leather quality. I can't stand cheap-feeling leather (we all know what I mean ). In short, the reviews freaked me out. I immediately contacted Riding Warehouse to try and cancel but they told me it was too late. I am so glad they couldn't!! This bridle is beautiful and looks high quality. After being sure it fit my horse (sizing was accurate for me). I immediately went and conditioned it thoroughly and it looks and feels great! The padding is high quality too!! Love, love, love it!!! Definitely going to purchase it in black as well!! If you are on the fence, get it!!

Comments: I have the Kavalkade Ivana and I love it. I was hoping the Ivy model would have same cut/fit but it does not. The crown piece is wider and the ear contours are much too close together. It did not fit my TB (with average head and ear size) or my paint horse (with small ears). The bridle was lovely and so soft. I was very disappointed to have to return it.

Comments: This bridle is lovely. The leather is very soft, especially for the price. The padding is really, really soft. I have a 16h TB that usually fits somewhere between cob and a horse size bridles, but the cob fits him well close to the top holes, so I believe this runs big. The anatomical design is wonderful. My horse seems very comfortable in it. Everyone at my barn has commented on how nice the bridle is and how much they like it, and some have already ordered their own! I would highly recommend this bridle!

Comments: 100% LOVE, LOVE this bridle!! I can't believe the price because the leather is so soft and supple. It looks absolutely gorgeous on my horse. My horse is a 16.3h TB and generally wears a Full size, however, this bridle ran large so I sent back and ordered the Cob. It's still roomy, so definitely order a size down than you normally would. Highly recommend!!

Comments: This bridle is really gorgeous in person. I have an ottb with a fairly standard cob size head and the cob size fit him perfect. The stitching/padding/leather is great on the bridle. The leather quality on the reins is pretty terrible (all the dye started coming off and leaving grey leather after 2 weeks of use) but you don't buy this for the reins. Sadly, after about 3 weeks of use my horse could not take the wide crown piece and stared shaking his head constantly when this bridle was on. Real bummer because this bridle is very unique and flattering.

Comments: I really like this bridle. For the price, the quality of leather is nice - soft right out of the bag. Love the mono-crown and the design of the noseband/cheek piece. One thing to be cautious about, the "Horse" size is more "Warmblood" size. You might want to size down if you have a horse who is on the fence size.

Comments: I like the style of this bridle. The leather is not the best leather quality but it's okay for the price. However, the sizing was completely off. My 15.3 hh TB wears cob or horse size, depending on the brand, and I read that these run large so I ordered the cob. The sizing did not match the chart at all. The crownpiece was way too small for my guy, with the wide part of the curve poking into the backs of his ears and the cutback part sitting up near his bridle path. The size chart on this page says the browband measures 18" (which is huge for a cob) but by my measurements, it's 15" straight across and 16" if you follow the curve. Between that and the tiny crownpiece it was way, way too tight for him. The noseband adjusts from 24" to 29", not 26" to 28.5". The flash adjusts from 21" to 25.5", not 20" to 24". Bit to bit seems accurate-ish but I didn't measure exactly. I didn't measure the reins or throatlatch (which fit fine). A horse size might fit my boy better in the crown and browband, but the nosebands would be too large so an exchange doesn't seem worthwhile. A pity!

Comments: This bridle is E X C E L L E NT. The ONLY thing that could be made better is a ring on the Cavesson for lungeing. We've used a Micklem bridle for our wonderful, but 'skin-sensitive' Arabian/Welsh horse. Great bridle, however, the flash is not optional, and is a little stiff. This bridle: 1) Flash is optional 2) Cavesson noseband soft, padded and anatomically designed, can be positioned exactly to not put pressure on sensitive structures 3) Broad, padded, soft band over poll, no undue-pressure Extremely good fit, GREAT design with no pressure, poking or straps or other annoying things in the wrong spot. Leather is extremely soft. The only way in which the Micklem bridle is superior is thanks to the ring on the cavesson, which can be very useful for a quick lunge over Cavaletti/similar pre-riding on an obedient horse. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We're very happy with this anatomically well-designed bridle, and so is our horse, who's very happy with it.

Updated Review: Updating my review which starts with E X C E L L E N T bridle... as it BROKE after having been used 5 times. Still love it, however, yesterday, after having used it about 5 times, one of the small pieces holding the noseband padding in place around the noseband, came off. I was out on a trail ride with a young Arabian, who's very 'skin-sensitive', which is why we got this bridle in the first place. It worked out alright, with the padding of the noseband flapping under her chin. It could not be removed without me having to cut/pull off the other pieces. Very disappointing for the price paid. And we have even had the noseband on actually too loose than normal, as in 4 fingers between the noseband and her nose.

Comments: The Kavalcade Ivy is a good quality bridle at this price point. Nice design and the leather is good, not crinkly, brittle, or "coated" like some at this price. It should serve well for a few years and is definitely a step up from the Dover Crown brand and Horze bridles at this same price point. Would recommend it as a solid entry-level bridle.

Comments: The style of this bridle is beautiful and eye-catching, but the leather quality is terrible. I wasn't expecting the best at this price point, but I also didn't expect the leather to be wrinkled and cracked straight out of the packaging. Very stiff, plastic-like leather with color seemingly painted on. I have an HDR bridle which was $30 less and is much better quality. Unfortunately, I'm sending this back.
