Overview
Trail Woven Reins by Zilco are nice and long - 12 feet! - so your horse can easily drink from a stream and not pull you over his head! You will love how these feel in your hands and especially if you are used to English reins. Trails riders used to western reins adore these as well! These horse reins are endurance tack at its best! Better than leather reins, as the soft, supple, flat (but thick) 3/4-inch woven nylon material has just the right balance of substance, without feeling too bulky or heavy.
Zilco material at bit-ends comes in colors listed below, with black nylon rein portion. Brass scissor snaps, conway buckles and buckle in the center of the reins.
12 feet long, however, they can be modified to 10 ft. (or a preferred length) by shortening each end of the Zilco material.
You can choose to add Rein Stops to your reins, which are useful if you use a Running Martingale.
Zilco is a world leader in the design and production of synthetic tack products. Zilco's patented materials are a combination of elastomeric polymers and coated over nylon webbing. Zilco's material is supple but amazingly strong and will not crack or discolor with sun exposure, as biothane tack products can. The result is a beautiful product with the best modern materials that is comfortable on your horse's skin. This low-maintenance material is completely washable; simply soak in a soapy bucket of water, hose off, and wipe dry.

Comments: These are great reins. They're really long, but I just knot the extra when I need shorter reins or untie them when I need the length. I've used them for a lot of miles and they're still in great shape.

Comments: I love love love these reins! Perfect length, perfect width, sturdy yet easy on my hands!!! Plus a new fun fact. I can unclip the reins while in the saddle and attach them to my halter if I wish. Plus work great for tying by snapping on to the halter!

Comments: When I first got these reins probably six years ago, I thought they were crazy long. However, after using them despite ther length, I grew to really like them. That length can come in handy at times on the trail, and with these reins the length is there when I need it. When I don't need it, the excess just hangs down to my left side, no big deal. They are still in fantastic shape after all these years and miles, and I am not the best tack maintainer! Weight is a personal preference with reins - If you want woven reins but you don't want them ultra-lightweight, you will probably be happy with these reins. If you like super light reins, go for the RJ flat reins which come in different lengths too.

Comments: Pros: These reins are very easy to attach to bridle and clean, very long, plus the colors are cute. Cons: The woven portion was heavy and slippery (felt clumsy), the colored portion is small and hence less awesome, they are very long (pro or con, for me the reins were already thick and heavy and the extra 8 inches made them unwieldy).

Comments: I would give these a 2 out of 5 stars. After using on trail rides two times, the rope part has picks even though we went no where near any stickers or briars. I have no idea how they could have gotten the picked out spots. I love the idea, and they looked really nice out of the box, but they need to be sturdier if they are marketed for trail riders. Also, I don't like the buckle, my initial idea was to take it off, but I think I will be trying to return them and get something sturdier.
