Overview

The Safe Clip is proud to be the recipient of the prestigious Spoga Horse Innovation Award for Best Product in the Safety for Equestrian & Horse category. The Safe Clip™ is both a stand-alone item and an accessory replacement part for the HiTie™ Horse Trailer Tie System.

Safe and convenient - The Safe Clip™ is undeniably the ultimate horse tying system and training tool. Can be used inside or outside the barn and trailer as well as on high lines and even cross ties! Providing enough resistance for a horse to feel tied and secure, the Clip's unique design will allow the rope to feed through when the horse panics and pulls back hard enough. This action offers the relief of pressure the horse needs to calm down while remaining safely tied, preventing risk of damage or injury.

Comments: This clip works as advertised- it's a handy way to tie your horse without having them held fast. It's cheaper than the Blocker Tie, which is why I went for it. I wish I'd just spent a bit more to get the classic Blocker Tie instead- they are lighter and way less bulky than this one. Plus, the Blocker Tie is easier to use with all sizes of rope. On this Safe Clip, the hole for the lead rope is rather small, so it's difficult to use with stiffer lead ropes (even though my lead rope is the recommended diameter).

Comments: Excellent product! My farrier tried them and loved them! I feel comfortable with my horse in the cross ties now, and so is my mare!

Comments: Use this all the time. My horse has a pullback problem and while I've worked with her to get her to stop the behavior 95% of the time, there's always a chance that she might pull back if she gets spooked. So I use the clip on anything that if she was straight tied to she would break. You can also adjust the clip to how much give it has, so you can choose how easily the lead ropes can be pulled through if your horse pulls back.

Comments: My son and I have 4 of these clips and use them to tie the horses at home -- we have them on trees, as well as off our horse trailer. We also use these safety clips to tie our horses overnight to the trailer in ride camp when we compete in endurance. Wouldn't tie our horses without them!

Comments: I bought this for one of my horses who would occasionally pull back when tied to the trailer. She once pulled back rearing and when she reached the end of the rope she shot forward and knocked her head right into the corner of the trailer really hard. Thanks to the safety clip, we have had no more problems.  Just make sure your rope is long enough and you don't tie a knot in the end (!). Also, my daughter would get so frustrated before she learned how to safely tie a horse with a rope. Once we got the safety clip, she was so happy being able to just clip and un-clip the rope by herself. Now I use one on each of my lead ropes for each of my horses. Another benefit is no more tying the horse, just clip from one thing to the next.

Comments: This is the best for tying a horse no matter where but especially in a trailer. They can escape should they need too to avoid injury and great for the wash rack too.

Comments: The first time using the clip convinced me to never tie again without it! I had my horse tied to the trailer, with the clip, and was digging thru a plastic grocery bag while walking towards him. I totally wasn't thinking about the "scary noisy bag" I had in my hand, causing him to panic. My horse pulled back, and was able to take about 5-6 quick steps back away from me. Once he did, he calmed right down and stopped pulling, since I wasn't as close to him with the bag. I realized what caused him to panic, and put the bag down, went and reassured him it wasn't going to eat him, and readjusted the lead. A nearby rider seen my horse backing and backing and didn't know what was going on, thought he had gotten loose. When he seen that he was still tied he immediately asked what I had him tied with. I told him what it was explaining the way it worked and all. I went on to tell him I had seen his mare earlier trying to free herself from the trailer she was tied to (nearly breaking her neck in the process) and that I thought she would benefit from being tied with a clip as well. Since he seen first hand (along with me that day too!) how my horse pulled and stepped back, and calmed right down, he said he was going to order one for his mare when he got home! Ever since then, I haven't tied without a clip. I have several along my breezeway, single ties and cross ties both, plus in my trailer. I even carry a spare in my trailer tote in case someone needs one or wants to try one out. Definitely well worth the investment and a must for every horse owner!!
