Overview

An economical bitless bridle alternative, the RJ Manufacturing Sidepull Bitless Trail Bridle with nickel hardware provides light control, works effectively, and eliminates the need for a bit. Better than nylon headstalls, these side pull bridles are made of polypropylene which makes them lightweight, low-stretch, colorfast, and will not get stiff with age or weather.

For those unfamiliar with sidepull bridles, the nose piece features a somewhat rigid (though flexible) lariat rope core. The slight rigidity is typical for a sidepull and provides light control. There are rings on each side of your horse's muzzle that reins attach to.  You can use a direct rein or neck rein your horse with a sidepull bridle.

Key Features

  • Convenient Ring for Tying
  • Lightweight & Pliable
  • Bitless Light Control
  • Fully Adjustable Polyester Weave Construction
  • Easy to Clean
  • Polished Nickel Hardware

Bitless BridleI bought this for my mom's mare that I am training. She likes it a lot and it fits perfectly!

Comments: This is my first sidepull and I love it. The only problem I have with it is the size: I didn't think my horse had a particularly large head but the throatlatch *barely* fits on him. If it came in a larger size I'd get it in a heartbeat. Also the brass hardware got green and crusty. All in all, I really do love it. I only have to use a very light touch for control. I like to give my horse 'grass breaks' while we're trail riding and this is perfect for that.

Comments: GREAT sidepull!  I bought nickel hardware for me to match the Skito (bareback) pad I ordered and brass for my hubby to match his endurance saddle - and RJ 10 ft yacht reins for both of us - love those!  Between the Skito pad and this sidepull I'm tacked up in less than 5 minutes for a 20-30 minute ride after work each night.  Both of our horses respond very well to these and we switch between this and a bit to keep them on their toes. ;-)

Comments: This was much better than I had expected. The lariat noseband is not as rough as I thought it would be, the whole bridle is very soft and I am sure almost any horse would be happy with it!

Comments: I was searching for a weather-proof, durable, comfortable and quality side pull for my young horse on the trails. As a result, I decided to purchase this side pull in black with matching 10' reins and upgraded brass hardware. I've had a headstall before that was made up of the same weave and I really loved the "ultimate" adjustability it provides. The nose is nice and flexible, the rope soft and pliable, and the hardware has a nice weight to it. The reins are extra long and comfortable to grip, they are roper style so you never have to worry about accidentally dropping a rein. On a slightly negative side I did discover the nose rubbing my horse, I now have a fleece attachment and there are no longer any issues. Although my horse does not have a large head there is a excessive amount of extra material on both the curb strap and cheekpiece, though an uncomplicated fix by trimming. I paid 80$ with shipping for everything and am overall pleased with the bridle, so I would definitely recommend it for the trails or schooling!
