Sizing
To measure for half chaps, sit in a chair with knees bent at 90 degrees. Have someone else measure your calf width around the widest point and calf height from the floor behind heel up to the bend behind the knee. Compare your measurements to those listed above.

Comments: Very large. These are measured from the ankle bone, not the floor. XL came up over my knees and I'm 6 foot. i wear other brands XL, I have 17 calf and 17 from the floor to underside of thigh. I don't see any of these fitting me. From: Joe - Surry, Virginia, USA
RW Response: The length given in the sizing information, is for the length of the chap itself. This particular style of chap is technically described as a lady's half chap by the manufacturer, which could result in some imbalance when sizing for men. Comments: I bought these to replace my worn-out pair of Ariat chaps. These are nice looking and comparable quality to the Ariat chaps, but the sizing is weird. I ordered a Medium based on the sizing chart, but I couldn't get them to zip over my riding boots. I then ordered a Large and they wouldn't zip over my boots either. I wear a ladies size 9 shoe and these would not fit over my Ariat Terrains, hiking boots, or paddock boots. I will be returning them.
