A game changer for traditional riders, the MDC 'S' Classic™ Aluminum Tread Stirrup Irons deliver a classic look with all the benefits of the revolutionary MDC functional design. The patented 45° "S" positioned top offers improved stirrup and leg position which relieves pressure on the rider's ankles, knees, hips and back, yet is impossible to see in the show ring, as the stirrup leather completely covers the curvature of the angled top.

The ultra-low profile, high-traction aluminum tread offers a greater base of support while reducing slippage and improving safety in the saddle. The wide foot pad can be removed and replaced with a more narrow, traditionally sized MDC stirrup pad for rider preference. The 45° "easy retrieval" trailing edge of the stirrup makes picking up a dropped stirrup quicker and easier, and improves the overall safety of the stirrup in the event of a fall.

Comments: Didn't know I had knee pain until I tried these... Bought these to try because I tend to get too deep in my heel and end up jamming my ankle. I thought the wide footbed would help and it is awesome! I no longer feel like I'm riding on my tip toes due to the better weight distribution on the wide footbed. The 'S' at the top helps the stirrup leather to lay flatter against the saddle and not interfere with your calf. I love them!

Comments: I love these stirrups! I do not like the current trend of lightweight stirrups as I personally feel more secure in a stirrup with a bit of weight to it. I was looking for a traditional style and weight of stirrup with the 45 degree angle and wide footbed. The wide footbed offers a good base of support and I currently ride with Millbrook stirrups leathers so my leg feels very secure. I am about a shoe size 9.5 and can still get my heels down (I tried a stirrup with a wide/sloped footbed and I personally felt like it was too much slope and and it made me feel like I was pushing my leg forward and sitting in a chair seat just to make contact with the stirrup). So these stirrups are a great choice for me! The tread seems pretty secure, but I do choose to ride with the Super Comfort Stirrup pads added.

Comments: Don't let the price tag fool you, these are definitely worth the price. They are very comparable to Jin Stirrups but the 45° offset really made such an impact on my riding. I have tried my friend's Jin Stirrups and were debating if I should get those or the MDC'S...I'm super glad that I chose the MDCs! My right ankle tends to hyper flex and with the wider footbed these stirrups really helped to lessen the pressure on my shins and my ankles, as well as give me a good leg position in the saddle. I paired these irons with my Millbrook leathers and my leg looks and feels fantastic compared to using standard leathers and fills irons.

Comments: Love, love, love these! With traditional irons, I was having trouble with ankle pain. I tried a cheaper hinged variety, and that was too much flexion, so I moved on to try the MDC 'S' irons. Problem solved! The angle of the eye and the wide footbed provide enough relief for my ankles without being unstable. Highly recommend!

Comments: These are the only stirrups I put on my saddle. The footbed has enough movement to accommodate the flexion in my ankle without the rubber joint. Best of all, these are great for reducing the arthritic pain in my joints. Definitely worth the price.

Comments: I bought these last fall straight from the manufacturer -- only because RW didn't carry them yet! I liked the idea behind them and figured they were worth a try. Right away, they lessened the stress on my ankles and shins without forcing any changes to my position. Every time I hop on a barnmate's horse (with composite or regular irons, and often those horrible rubber treads), I curse the fact that I didn't switch saddles, too. My barn's ring has really fine river sand for footing, and even if there's a fair amount on the bottom of my boots, the wide, metal tread makes sure my foot doesn't move. To top if off, I haven't lost a stirrup since I started using these but I've experimented by dropping one or both -- and the next stride the stirrups come right back, no reaching or wriggling needed. I'm a fan for life.
